8-Hour Technical Tests + Chocolate Chip Cookie Baking Contests

Intense interview processes are nothing new, but that does not make them any less draining. The deeper into the process we progress, the more emotionally invested we can get. After all, we are talented, hopeful people who want good things to happen.

Slowly progressing through an interview process might not be so bad if there was a little more good communication. As we all know and feel by now, that’s not the current state. What is going on? Truth: what the job market is doing or not doing does not matter as much as your focus and intent, so you can be steadfast and resilient.

The bottom line is that you as a job seeker must work with intent in all of the job search and interviewing activities you choose to do, and not do. When you have an intentional job search, you can balance the effort put into any interview process with the reality that this opportunity is just one of many for you. You’re not obsessed or compulsive about waiting for the results, because you are too busy networking and learning.
