Growth mindset is a great phrase. But in the reality of our work and our challenges, what does it really mean to practice a growth mindset?
In the face of adversity, remaining flexible, never brittle. Flexibility keeps you from melting down, breaking down, and losing all that you worked so hard to create. It’s upholding your vision and caring, but with an open mind to new possibilities.
Care enough for your vision to experiment. Try new things, let go of things that do not work.
Care enough for your vision to listen to people who do not think like you. (You may or may not take their advice but you understand it, because you are open to growth)
There is more, and you will find it if you authentically embrace the first two ideas above. Your first steps.
