Employees and leaders of American corporations have had to let go of many things in recent years. For all the right and the wrong reasons, the benefits we used to have no longer exist, or they are a shadow of what they used to be. We find ourselves wondering why we can’t have those benefits anymore.
There is a perception that we need these benefits; granted some of them we do, such as health insurance. But for the most part, our benefits are something we think we need.
Whenever we think we need something, we put ourselves in a very dependent position. When we are dependent on something, we give up our freedom. We don’t feel empowered to pick what is the best thing for our career and our growth. Is that what you want for your career, and for your team?
